Magnesium is an essential part of chlorophyll\nwhich is necessary for photosynthesis. Without photosynthesis algae and hence\nthe corals which we have in our aquariums would not survive. Magnesium also\nhas another important function in that it allows maintaining the correct\ncombination of calcium concentration and alkalinity or carbonate hardness\npossible. Maintaining a correct magnesium concentration is therefore very\nimportant and is indirectly responsible for fast coral and calcareous algae\ngrowth. Magnesium is depleted by algae growth and also by the use of excessive\nkalkwasser or by going far beyond natural calcium alkalinity and pH values.\nThis supplement is highly concentrated. Each liter contains approximately 25\n000 mg of magnesium. To avoid an ionic imbalance Salifert have properly\nbalanced the magnesium with ions such as sulphate chloride bromide sodium and\ncalcium. This supplement is intended to be used on a regular maintenance\nbasis. If the magnesium concentration is significantly lower than 1350 mgl we\nadvise the use of Magnesium Powder. Directions Shake well before use. Dose 5ml\nper 100lts once a week. Adjust dosage according to individual requirements\nusing a Magnesium test kit. Every 5ml per 10 litres will increase the\nmagnesium concentration by approximately 12.5mgl. Never increase the magnesium\nconcentration by more than 50mgl a day. Directions Shake well before use.
